Dear Prospective Student,

As heads and deputies of King Ecgbert School (KES) we’d like to warmly welcome you to our amazing and inclusive school. There are so many significant reasons why KES is the best school in the area, and we are extremely proud to represent it and explain just why this is the school you should be applying to.

Joining a new school can be a frightening experience, but at KES all new students feel at home as soon as they walk through the door. The school has a wonderful sense of community, and there are lots of opportunities to meet new people.

The teachers here are very welcoming and you can always depend on them for help when you need it. The warm, friendly environment at KES ensures that all students can make the most of their time here at the school.

There are endless opportunities at KES to get involved outside of schoolwork. Whatever your interests are we are likely to have a club for it, whether it is sports, robotics or creative writing. If we don’t have something you want then you are more than welcome to set it up, recently a couple of 6th form students set up a debating club which has proven to be immensely popular.

Exclusively to sixth form we have seven different committees that organise all the social and communal side of school life. For example we have the prom committee, which coordinates a memorable end of year prom, and the yearbook committee that produces a high quality hardback with photo collages, student quotes and awards.

Different subject departments offer incredible trips; Geography takes students to Iceland, History visit the Battlefields in Belgium and Art this year are travelling to Venice to admire the renaissance work, the list of trips goes on.

Please feel free to come along to our 6th form open evening on the 16  November 2017 where you can explore all the wide ranging subjects we have to offer and talk to current students and teachers about any queries you may have. We look forward to meeting you then.
