King Ecgbert School celebrates amazing A Level results
King Ecgbert School is celebrating a record year of A level results, recording 66% of A levels at A*-B grades.
Mr Haigh said “This year’s results are a credit to the hard working students, their expert teachers and supportive parents. We are fortunate to have such well qualified teachers at King Ecgbert School who can really help our students achieve amazing things and I hope all our families can enjoy celebrations today”
Rebecca McCairns, Director of Sixth Form said “I’m proud of every single one of our students. There are some fantastic performances in our A levels and our vocational courses. Our track record in helping students access the best Universities and higher level apprenticeships continues”
The sixth form at King Ecgbert School is growing rapidly based on year on year excellent results. This summer, builders have been busy expanding the school to hold more sixth formers in a brand new study centre and café. Miss McCairns said “It’s great that the Mercia Learning Trust has been able to fund the expansion of the sixth form facilities, because with these results we’ll be drawing in even more students from across the local area who want to join our sixth form after completing their GCSEs elsewhere and we now have room for them to study and relax in facilities more like a university”.
The school is celebrating an incredible 8 students who achieved triple distinction * in BTEC qualifications and 19 students got 3 As or above in A level.
Christine Stott, Deputy Director of Sixth Form said “We are incredibly proud of a number of our students with extremely challenging personal circumstances this year that showed true perseverance and determination. They have been really successful and are true role models to us all.”
