The examinations period can be a stressful time for both students and parents and it is important that all those involved are as well informed as possible.

The administration of both internal and public examinations has now become a "year round activity". We also hold mock examinations for year 10 and 11 that we run to the same standards and rules as for Public examinations. This familiarises our students with the examination process before the real thing.

King Ecgbert School are committed to making every effort to ensure that the examinations are conducted in a way that will cause as little stress as possible and aim to help all our students achieve their best.

Message from Pearson July 2020

We understand that you are getting many questions from your students and to support you in the conversations you are having with them we’ve created a message to BTEC students who are due a calculated result this summer to help explain how the process will work. We’ve also created and a set of frequently asked questions and answers for them. We would encourage you to share this information with your BTEC students. “

Exam Contingency Day

Please note, the exam boards have identified Wednesday 24 June 2020 as Exam Contingency Day. This means that in the unlikely event that an exam in the summer 2020 session cannot be held on its scheduled day because of unforeseen circumstances, such as a national emergency, the exam may instead be held on Wednesday 24 June. Students should therefore be available for exams until and including Wednesday 24 June. Holidays should not be booked until after that date

Collection of results by a friend or relative

For those students, in Years 11 and 13 that are unable to come into school themselves, arrangements can be made for their examination results to be collected by a nominated person, on their behalf. In this instance, students must see the Examinations Officer with a letter of authorisation before the end of the summer term.  The  person collecting will need to bring in a form of photo identification when they come in to collect the results
