Work Experience

At King Ecgbert School we are developing our work experience offer for Year 10s and Year 12s, beginning in 2024.

The programme aims to provide a unique experience for students, allowing them to develop a realistic idea of the workplace and make informed decisions regarding their post-16 and post-18 options. Additionally, it will help them enhance transferable skills such as initiative, teamwork, and communication.

Students will be responsible for securing their own work experience placements with employers. This can be achieved through various avenues, such as organisations they already have connections with or companies they are interested in working for.

We are keen to provide targeted support where necessary to help students secure a placement. Therefore, we are looking for employers in Sheffield to commit to supporting this valuable programme and consider offering our young people meaningful work experience placements with them.

Students involved in the work experience programme will be communicated with directly and will receive full briefing of what is required of them in due course.

If you have any questions about work experience, please direct them to Paul Fennell, Careers Lead.

Further details of the programme will be added here in due course.
