Former student and Olympic gold medallist, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, visits KES

We were thrilled to welcome back one of our former students, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, the remarkable athlete who made history at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Jessica’s journey began right here at King Ecgbert School, where she honed her skills, formed lasting friendships, and left an indelible mark on our community.

Jessica attended King Ecgbert from 1997 to 2004. Her passion for sports was evident even then, as she excelled in various disciplines.

In 2013, we proudly named our sports hall after Jessica, recognising her outstanding achievements.

Jessica’s impact extends beyond medals. She still holds 14 school records across athletics events like the 100m, 200m, 800m, long jump, and more.

It's always great to see Jessica again at school. Her journey from King Ecgbert to Olympic glory inspires us all!
